Katie Green

EDH

Katie Green is a practising hygienist and oral health educator in Jersey, working closely with a variety of specialists including implantologists and periodontologists. Her main emphasis is on patient education and motivation, and she has great enthusiasm in the area of periodontal disease with regards to etiology, treatment and management. Katie qualified with the extended hygienist remit at University of Wales College of Medicine and has a variety of experience in both NHS and private practices. She has had articles published in Dental Health magazine, and is a member of British Dental Association for Hygiene and Therapy and the American Academy of Dental Hygiene.


Dr Sharad Patel

MclinDent (Prosthodontics)

Sharad Patel lectures nationally and internationally on cosmetic dentistry, implantology and all ceramic restorative systems. He has been practising implant dentistry for more than ten years, during which he has placed more than 2,000 implants. Dr Patel has enormous enthusiasm for his profession and is driven continually to extend the boundaries of his knowledge. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and a certified Instructor for the International Society of Computerised Dentistry. He also enjoys membership of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Association of Dental Implantology UK. Sharad offers an additional mentoring programme to teach referring dentists to restore the implants placed by him if they so wish.


 

Dental Implants for Hygienists Saturday, 27 October 2012 | One day

The course gives a complete insight into implant therapy and defines the role of the hygienist within the implant team. It is ideal for those hygienists involved in the aftercare of patients with implants or who wish to have a greater knowledge of the subject.

Educational outcome

The day provides attendees with a clear understanding of implantology, and the confidence to treat patients with dental implants and offer them practical advice.

Detailed Programme

The programme is a combination of in-depth lectures, a hands-on workshop, and live demonstration. It covers the basics of implantology, including their surgical placement and restoration. The content focuses on the need for good oral hygiene and offers guidance on post-operative care and maintenance.
Participants have the opportunity to experience and practise different techniques on models.
