Dr Mitesh Badiani

Mitesh Badiani has lectured widely throughout the UK and abroad in implants and local anaesthetic, especially the use of the wand. He is principal of six private surgeries employing over 100 members of staff, including more than 30 dentists. His work is limited to mainly implants and cosmetic dentistry. Dr Badiani is a member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and the General Implant Forum and Training. He is on the Advisory Panel of the British Society of Oral Implantology and a member of the Association of Dental Implantology UK.
Emma Birtwistle
RDN
Emma Birtwistle is an experienced dental implant nurse. She assists with all aspects of implantology, from simple cases to more complex procedures. Emma is a member of the British Society of Oral Implantology, and has mentored many dental nurses starting out in implantology. She travels throughout the UK, assisting Dr Badiani in giving support to other dental implant practices. Emma completed the National Dental Nursing Certificate in 2002 and for the past seven years has been regional co-ordinator for a recognised implant training course.
Rie Robbins
RDN
Rie Robbins is an experienced dental implant nurse. She assists with all aspects of implantology, from simple cases to more complex procedures. Rie is a member of the British Society of Oral Implantology, and has mentored many dental nurses starting out in implantology. She travels throughout the UK, assisting Dr Badiani in giving support to other dental implant practices. Rie joined Devon Dental Centre of Excellence in 2004, is a fully qualified dental nurse and has been a regional course co-ordinator for two years.
Implant Training for Dental Nurses Friday, 11 May 2012 | One day
This course aims to introduce dental implantology to the experienced and inexperienced dental nurse in general practice. The aim is to provide dental nurses with the knowledge and confidence to assist and support their dentist throughout all dental procedures, in a relaxed and friendly environment. The course incorporates hands-on learning and the theoretical side of implant nursing, combined with an opportunity to watch live surgery and to see the day-to-day running of a dental implant referral centre.
Educational outcome
The course is designed to increase and update nurses’ understanding and knowledge of implantology. Following attendance, nurses should be able to assist their dentist throughout any implant procedure with a greater knowledge and confidence, provide appropriate patient management and care and gain a further knowledge of asepsis techniques and instrument care and sterilisation. Emma Birtwistle is also available for any questions or queries after completion of the course.
