Dr Nadir Khan

Nadir Khan has taught and lectured throughout the UK on the surgical aspects of implant therapy and, in particular, the management of compromised bone situations. He is a specialist oral surgeon and has run an implant referral practice in Colchester since 1997. Dr Khan is an associate specialist in maxillofacial surgery at Colchester and Ipswich hospitals and an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Dr Tushar Patel

Tushar Patel has over 25 years of experience in Advanced Restorative Dentistry and Orthodontics. He is a trained mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology UK and a course tutor on the Royal College of Surgeons Implantology Diploma course at Leeds Dental Institute. Dr Patel gained the Specialist Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the RCS in June 2007 and is a Fellow of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK). He was awarded postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Restorative Dental Practice from the Eastman Hospital in June 2004.
Sinus Augmentation and Bone Grafting Course Wednesday, 17 October 2012 to Thursday, 18 October 2012 | Two days
A two-day course designed for implantologists who wish to understand the management of difficult cases with compromised bone situations. The programme covers live surgical demonstrations of bone grafting, sinus floor management and soft tissue grafting. Participants then carry out the surgery on sheep skulls and pig mandibles which offer realistic simulation of the surgery.
Course Summary
The focus of this course is hard and soft tissue management of compromised dental ridges using bone grafting, sinus augmentation and connective tissue grafting techniques. The use of piezo surgery and cone beam CT scan in planning and treating cases is also discussed and demonstrated.
Educational outcome
Following attendance, participants will be able to recognise and appropriately treatment plan complex cases. Delegates will be able to understand which situations require specialist surgical input .
